Quite some time ago i came on here to ask about making a stock for my girlfriend. I finnished the whole gun for her now and am following up.

If your new it all started out when i introduced my girlfirend to shooting and after a few times to the range she really took a liking to my 10/22 too bad the stock was to long. She still shot it none the less, and quite well.

So i got a deal on a used ruger and cut down the stock and refinnished it
a couple of times so it was just the way she liked it...lol. Hooked it up with a scope so it is more or less the same set up as mine and now she really looks forward to the range since she now has a gun of her own.
Her interest is definatly peeked.
We will no doubt see many years of shooting together. I cant wait.

So, which one did you make?;)

Just kidding. I'm impressed. If I tried that sort of thing with sharp tools I'd be a double amputee in no time! Nothing better than a stock made to fit.

My old lady is looking forward to more time on the 10/22 but she is looking fondly at the No 1 223. We may have to talk about that one. Closest thing I have to a girlfriend there.

Nice work, IanC!

Just curious...what is that on the rear end of the barrel of the fullstocked 10/22? Some kind of quarter rib?

Looks interesting.

10/22

Hey John
That is a handguard from a Choate stock i used to have.
I had to inlet the stock just a bit to make it fit. Since this rifle is staying
with me i didnt think altering would mater much. Plus i really like it on there.

Another thing that someone might ask is the pad on her rifle is actually a ground down berretta pad. She gave me a 4 inch belt sander two weeks before i started the job. It made things much easier.
