Today I spent a few hours playing with my m14 (read m305). I was thinking how it is such a great platform for a non restricted rifle that new shooters and old alike can get in to the game with and a better option then an SKS to start competing in shooting matches or CQB. At the risk of being flamed out of exsistance by all the lovers of the blackfeather stock and EBR's out there.

Some one should design a modular chassis system that allows you to mount for grips, lasers, different stocks (based on the AR15 buffer tube) and optic options. Making this stock out of injection molded plastic like the Promag Archangle stock, but with out the precession look and designed to be flexible like an AR.

I love the look of the blackfeather and similar stocks but I don't have the capital to spend $800-$1000 to buy one and kit it all out. (Especially when the base rifle is only $450). I know that CNCing a rifle stock and all the modifications costs and even more to try and gain accuracy. But dare I say it, I am happy with my m14 shooting 2-3 inch groups at 100 using my upgraded USGI stock. What I would like though is the ability to put the stock internals of an m305 in to a cheaper alternative that allows it to be used for CQB and hunting. Much like the Promag Sparta stock for the Mini-14.

What do you guys think?

just to clarify is promag developing a stock for the M-305 ? or have i gotten my hopes way to high i used to own a mini in a sparta stock and i put hundreds of rounds down range and it never came loose or jammed it was perfect

To clarify for you, as far as I know there are currently no plans. ( I really have no idea?) I was just thinking if we could get enough people to chime in. I could send an email to Promag or perhaps a dealer would take notice and get some wheels turning. I'm in the same boat as you powerwagon. I love the Blackfeather but I'm not trying to build a precession rig out of my m305. That's why I have my Remington 700. But I would like to own a stock for it that allows it to have some of the flexibility of an AR but be non restricted.

So lets put it this way, if you could have a lower cost stock available for your m305, what would you like it to look like, and what key points should the design include?

Lightweight without comprismising durability, adjustable butt, rail at the 12 and 6 o'clock, and I would like a slightly larger charging handle if any body knows where I could find one .

I can't decide if that one from choate is a full stock or just the folding part??

Given how big the market seems to be in Canada for the m305 I'm surprised there are not more stocks out there. I mean if ATI, Choate, and Promag can make a stock like this for an SKS for under $200. Shouldn't it be easy to make one for an m305? Sure it's nothing special but it would be a nice jump up from the plastic that they come with stock.

If your looking for a good looking stock cheaper than a black feather, but looks to be good quality. Check out Troy industries. That will be soon going on my m14.

What are you smoking that a TROY MCS is under $600?

Or what is your source as they are about to make a retarded amount of money.

Sorry, it was an American site I was on. I was looking up so many stocks, probably like everyone else. I think I just liked the look and function of that one the best. Ya I did see it on ctcs as well, 799 for the chassis. Ouch, sorry if I got anyone's hopes up. I still think ill be pinching pennies for that system.
