Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone has ever had problem with set screws on a low pro gas block walking out with blue loctite? I myself have always used red for low pro blocks until most recently when I needed to remove one. So yeah, the torch came out, the drill came out......you get the idea.

Anyways whats your experience with blue loctite on low pro blocks?

I blue loctite the set screws even though the heat generated from shooting it heavily is enough to break it down. It still gives some resistance to walking out. That said, never had a screw work loose.

I've had set screws come loose. Drilling dimples into the underside of the barrel for the screws to sit into and using blue Loctite on the threads is standard procedure on my part.

Edit: Unless I can permanently pin it like the Geissele gas blocks.

Thanks for the info. On definately going to be using loctite on the gas block. Again I usually use red but after taking off the last one, I really don't want to go that route again. I think I will go ahead and try blue. Worst case is that I reapply down the road.

Cheers

Blue is the best for firearms use but I use red Loctite on things that can stay attached permanently. If not, I use red on things that I can use a torch on without damaging anything but the blue one should be good to go.
