can anyone recommend any? I want one for my AR with weaver/picatinny mount and I'm looking to keep the rifle level and not have the muzzle pointing up when it sits on its own. so the shorter the legs the better but obviously want adjustable.

The bipod will be used at the lowest setting only for when its in my gun cabinet in which the rifles sit horizontally on shelves instead of vertically, the problem is my current gripod is too tall and prevents me from putting it on the shelf cause the muzzle points way up. I usually use my quick release bipod foregrip but it's too tall for storage in the cabinet. 6-9" looks perfect, thanks for the replies guys. I'll let you know which exact one I end up getting.Sorry, but I gotta ask. Where do you want the rifle pointed when you shoulder it? If the legs are so short as to match the pistol grip height, it's going to be pointed downward when you put the rifle to your shoulder if you are in a somewhat level prone position.
When I did have a bi-pod on my AR, I used a Harris 6-9. This even worked from the bench IIRC. It's been a long time since I used a bi-pod on an AR.
