Is there any significance to having serial number 267 on my AG42B or is it just in the eye of the beholder?

The numbers match on the receiver, carrier, and butt if that matters to anyone other than me.

That is a low serial number, considering that only about 30,000 of these were produced. I’m gonna have to dig mine out for comparison….

No significance, they are all rifles made to a specific pattern with no particular changes in production over the serial numbers. I suppose some people care a bit if you have number ‘1’ or something but I have never seen the point in worshiping a low serial number unless there is some actual difference in the production.

Agreed. If it has some unusual, later unseen production features it would be desirable.
