Hey guys

So I have a savage 10fp in an mdt hs3 chassis. Rifle has an m24/40 barrel (1.2” shank taper to 0.9” muzzle). Scope will be mounted on an 20moa seekins rail.
Scope is a Nikon fx1000 4-16x50mm with sunshade.

Will atrs low scope mounts work?

Old trick i use to use was to stack some pennies on the rail and then sit the scope on top of them until the objective lens clears the barrel, and then measure the height from the rail to the center of the ocular lens. If you don't have pennies, any coin would work! I believe low ATRS rings are 0.885"?

I know we had to use "High" scope rings on a Tac 21 Chassis with a 50mm objective scope, but since the HS3 has a drop below the rail, IMHO, you just may be able to use low rings. That said, send an email to MDT, they will know for sure.

Get all the specs punched in and it'll tell you if it clears.

Save you from king the math yourself. The coin trick works. Also used the Playdoh method. Roll two balls of putty on the receiver and press the scope tube down until it is level and near the barrel but not touching. Then remove the putty (carefully) and measure the thickness of the indent. That's your minimum scope ring cradle to base height measurement. I prefer that method because you can step back and have a look at it when the scope is held by the putty.

Hope that helps.
