Im interested in purchasing a GSG-15 and have watched and read a fair number of reviews regarding this rifle. Many people love them, but the biggest complaint I have come across is the inability to run anything less than a quality high velocity round. I personally would love the ability to run a lower velocity/quieter round for use around the property without pissing off the neighbors.
From what I understand (I am definitely not a gunsmith) this rifle uses a very stiff spring to cycle the bolt and requires the high velocity round to compress the spring and reset the bolt. Anything less with cause a fail to feed. Would it be possible to replace this spring with a shorter/softer version to allow for a lower grain round? I may be completely out to lunch here...
