Low water levels in Alberta?

Went to the marsh for some duck hunting on the weekend. The black water looked fine from the shore. Put the canoe in the water and pushed off and sunk deep into the mud . Checked out some other stops I scoped out earlier and they were bone dry .

Anyone else encountered this problem?

Their pumping out alot of the irrigation ponds early again it seems. Even the big resivouirs around here are getting low. Not sure why, but I noticed it the last few years they seem to be doing it sooner.
