Just wondering why RRA rifles are cheaper than other complete AR's?

ie. $1300 and change for an RRA 'Entry Tactical' vs $1700 for a Dlask 701-4

Thx.

Supply and demand. RRA supplies a much larger customer base (the USA + Canada) than Dlask, which has limited, if any sales to the USA. Their guns are mass-produced, whereas Dlask's are basically one-off custom builds. RRA has a good reputation for quality, but they don't seem to be regarded as among the very best, and more importantly, they don't have one of the big, popular names (*cough* Colt *cough*). I have not read anything that suggests you should avoid RRA for any quality related reasons. Dlask offers some unique features (short barrels, custom parts, custom engraving) not available on guns from American companies, but those are really the only significant differences. What I have read leads me to believe you would find quality comparable between the two. BTW, I have a Dlask, but have not handled an RRA, only read about 'em.

i think AR price have come down in the last little while /w more entries into the cdn market.... namely RRA/Stag, i don't know about the actual RRA guns, as i own a dlask, but the RRA match triggers, i always hear people rave about.... i would think the rest of their gun is also a quality piece of kit as well

HR, come out to Burke Mountain Saturday mornings and feel free to try out my RRA.

RRA is essentially brand new in the Canadian market, we can thank Questar for the insight to bring them in. They are great rifles, phenominal fit and finish. Once they become established in our country, as all new manufacturers do, I'm sure the prices will rise a little. The other factor, as mentioned earlier, is that RRA and Stag are both recent, we also have Colt, DPMS, Dlask, Armalite, Bushy and others... so there are more and more choices now.

Furthermore, with the advent of their new .223 and 9mm AR15 pistols you have the option of ordering a 10.5" or 7.5" upper and mounting it on a RRA lower that Questar should already have in stock. The pistol uppers are probably a couple months away from Canada but I intend on ordering a 10.5" 9mm upper. I wasn't sure about the matching up but emailed RRA and got a very promp response informing me that that would make a SBR and unless I had whatever licence it was illegal. Upon informing them I was Canadian they wished me the best of luck.

The main thing you'll see on the board here is comparisons with Stag, and you'll see a favouring of Stag merely because it's more established. I'm happy with my gun and in the future I think you'll see many more happy owners. For now enjoy the fact that you save a few hundred dollars over Dlask (and get better magazines and great service from Mark at Questar...) and you can be a pioneer in the new AR15 game.

thansk moparguy, that's a very generous offer... but unfortunately plans wont allow me to join you up at PoCo on saturday... anyways... happy shooting...

its a little hard to determin which way prices for ARs will go i guess we'll have to see how the supposedly new Norinco M4s turn out quality wise and how their pricing will be....

The United States does not allow export permits for short rifle barrels. From everything I've read, this also applies to barrels / uppers that are called "pistol" parts in the USA. You may find to get a short barrel you will have to go with a Canadian source, or have a longer barrel modified.

I read that RRA was started by EX-Armalite employee's... again that is what I read somewhere on "the net".

I have a RRA lower with the NM Stage II trigger... awesome :D
