Do they make sloping scope bases for Mausers in a lower profile than Ken Farrell's?

This one seems little lower, but is it really?

There is this guy on another forum who has made a rifle with all the parts I'm planning on, but he says the scope is too high. So I'm trying to find a way to get it lower - any advice available here? (M98 in a Richards stock)

Ken Farrell scope base
TPS rings
Burris Black Diamond 6-24x50

He used TPS scope rings so even their low ones seem higher than they have to be?

First I think it is important to realise that the thickness of the base makes little difference in the height of the scope above the barrel. The rings not the base control the height of the scope. Just how low your rings can be is determined by the diameter of your scope's objective lens, the length of the scope, the contour of the barrel, and the amount of slope built into the base.

In the picture of my rifle below, you will notice there is very little clearance between the objective and the barrel, yet the scope sits quite high above the receiver, high enough that I need an adjustable cheek piece to have a good cheek weld. My base and rings are Badger Ordanance, and the base has a 20 minute slope.

I'm not sure you will have to worry about a low base for the mauser. I know Ken Farrell has the widest selection of bases available and of the top of my head I don't know anyone else who makes a mauser picatinney or picatinney style base. I think Ken's base maybe your only option......but I could be wrong..

Boomer, I'd considered that, but not seriously. Perhaps a cheek-pad would be the best alternative?

### I've been checking around and I've heard that there are Leupold Mark 4 2-piece bases with built-in cant. And Leupold vertical split rings look like good idea too. But so far the only base I've found is for Remington.

Forget all that ebay junk I posted, its embarassing:)
