A friend of mine in Ontario has a deactivated Savage produced Thompson SMG, Model of 1928, with serial S-17659.

That is the lowest serial number I have seen on a Savage Tgun in a Canadian collection to date. Do any of you with a Thompson in your collection have a lower number? Anything under S-25000 would be considered very early production.

I have S-22802 and would be interested to know how many early guns have survived.

I have 3 m1921 Colts The Savage m1928 was a contract from Colt
to make receivers and use up colt m21 and m21/28 parts inventory
Canada bought these guns for guards at POW camps and the Police
bought them because of the War. Mine came from Halifax

Mine is a war time Bridgeport 1928, so not even in the running. I was told a lot of these were dropped to the partisans in Yugo area 1942ish.

I would love to own a 12.3 Colt 21. If any for sale, please give me a shout, we can probably do some business.

can14,
Does your Halifax PD gun have any stampings in the stock or on the receiver that would identify it as one of their Thompsons? Is the serial number below 17659?

Vancouver Police have Colt guns that came to them from the Smelter at Trail BC who have them for Security in the 30's
Lever Arms did the deal

Do either 17659 or 22802 have Enfield inspection/acceptance markings OR the "W" in a crown marking?
