So anybody experiencing this shift of impact at 100 yards, when going from 6power to 1?

I’ve read as much as 4 inch shift, if so, how do you account for it , in your reticle?
Are there two aiming points sight in at 100 yards for 1 and 6 x?

Like the mudskipper reticle has.

Do you understand parallax?

Yes, well enough to use it,but I’ve been reading about the 4 inch shift being a common occurrence in 1-6 , in SFP , when going from max to min power.
Or am I reading the article wrong? And the object of the two aiming points of the mudskipper reticle is just for faster target acquirement

Increasing magnification should not effect point of impactt if everything else stays the same and the user is competent.

Was reading it on the hide.
Someone was saying that the lower end ($500) scopes were shifting as much as 4 inches , with a 100 yard zero.
Zeroed at 100 yards with 6 x , then shifting(dropping) by 4 inches when dialing down to 1x

That must be a really lousy scope for there to be a huge optical shift like that. The zoom lenses are behind the erector and shouldn't have any contact whatsoever, so chalk it up to really bad lens design, placement or profile.

SFP or FFP should not make any difference to the degree OP is seeing. Chalk it up to defective scope.4" deviation from magnification adjustment is WAY outside normal. It should be 0" no matter what.

If you think there are optic snobs here, you need to spend time at SnipersHide. There are some real beauties there and I suspect that you might be getting a little of that snobbishness shining through in the posts that you're reading. 4 minutes of variability sounds like a cheap scope problem, or a fairy tale.

The zoom lens rides in a carrier to move it back and forth as the zoom ring is turned. If it's not sitting straight between the erector housing and ocular lenses it can project the image onto the ocular lens at different angles as it's turned. This will shift the entire image.

Bad parallax will amplify the problem.

What scope is this in particular?
There should not be any shift in POI when zooming in or out. Sounds broken, I'd be contacting the warranty department.
Personally I have never had this issue amd I have shot many scopes from $50-3,500.

I would suggest checking your mounts first. The checking your rifle with another scope mounted, then put the LPVO back on and see if you still get a 4" shift.

Another trick, clamp the rifle very very very securely, pull the bolt out, position it so that you have a target at around 75-100 yards you can see through the bore at center, this is hard, you need a really good eye to get it a target point centered in the bore.

Then look through the optic and carefully adjust it from 1-6, you should see a shift if it is a scope issue.

I had issues before where I was sure that I tightened the mounts, but never did. Felt pretty silly going through a box of ammo to not site it in...

from reading his post, it sounds like he has heard this is a problem, not that he has experienced the problem.

Exactly… lol

I was searching Optisan 1-6 ,which I used to have and was a very nice optic and it led me to the Hide.
And there was a post that a guy was saying his 1-6 had a shift of 4 inches, maybe a Vortex? ( not sure).
Another poster said it was common and that’s why the mudskipper design was basically for.
Two aiming points.
