Good day all! So here it goes with an other question that might not have answers šŸ˜‚....
I’m in the market for a new light and compact scope, it will be use for hunting big games inside 250m!
What I’m looking for is as follow, good quality(like Leupold quality) 1-6x20 or 24, 1ā€ tube maybe 30mm but nothing bigger, no crazy turrets, no tactical reticule!!
So I’m looking for something that would have an illuminated dot, but still have cross hair of some sort.
And all that under $1000!!!
If you know of such scopes, pleas chime in with brand and models and where one can find it!!
Thanks!!

Steiner P4Xi 1-4 is very good, it is 17.3 oz. Cons: only 4x. $1185
Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x24, 14.4oz, $1300. Very simple reticles.
Nightforce NX8 1-8x24. 17oz. Very questionable value at $2.3k, just noting that is light and compact. Optically not good at all.
Primary Arms SLx FFP1-8x24.#17.9 oz. $750. Dim illumination. Circle reticle if you like that.
Meopta Optika6, pretty new scope, very limited availability. 20.4oz. Not day bright illumination.
Swarovski Z3 3-9x36 (or 3-10x42) king of the lightweight 12 oz. (12.7 oz). Around $1k. Not a 1x, no illumination.
DELTA Stryker HD 1-6x24. 17.2oz. $1k. Illumination is outstanding. Closed turrets, MRAD cross hair, center red dot illuminated.
Minox All-rounder 1-5x24. 17oz . Should be very bright dot illumination. It is fiber dot and uses 2 cr batteries I think. $1600

at 1.5x or 1.75x speed ))

PS
I'm sorry. Strike Primary arms and Nightforce out, they are tactical.

How about Schmidt & Bender Hungaria 1" 6Ɨ42, $819, 16.6oz ? If you don't really need 1x, take Swaro Z3 if you don't care about illumination that much.

If you want a real illumination red dot and cross hair - DELTA Stryker HD 1-6x24. Nuclear bright.

I'd look for a used Leopold with the fire dot, and maybe a #4 style german reticle, they seem to be among the lightest weight.
It looks like some of them have been discontinued lately.

I have one of the discontinued Leupold VX-R 1-4 with the fire dot and it is very nice glass. Only 4 power but plenty of magnification out to 200 yards.

The only one close is the delta but still over $1k!! But thanks for the effort!

Now to find one hahaha.... thank you I will keep my eyes open!!

I’ll see what is out there!! I think I would prefer 1-5 1-6, maybe I would consider 2-7 with the same features!!

what is the reason for the 6 in a 20 tube? optic are always a compromise and i do not see a big improvement with a 6 instead or 4 or a 5 in those small tube.

inside 250 yards the old 1.5-5x20 will work great maybe a change of reticle.

i may be to dig into some scopes and show you what can fit your needs.

let me know.

As I wrote 1-6 20 or 24, I guess in a 20 it would be up to 5 and then jump to 24 for a 6!?!?!
I’m not set on those requirements, hence my idea to go maybe with a 2-7 instead! I already have a 1.5-5x20 VX3i that I like, I would like to try something with a red dot if I could find something that look normal lol, not tactical and not bulky!!
But sure if you feel like digging around and showing me what you have!

I think the all-rounder replaced the ZE5.2. I have the 1-5x24 ze5.2 and it has amazing glass. The illuminated number 4 reticle is great. The ZX5i line has very good glass. The ZX5i 1-5x24 was great value for the money. Unfortunately, I believe Go Big Tactical cleared them all out very recently. If you find a used one, go for it.

Check out the Athalon 1x8. I think they are about 800.00 Wolverine carries them. I really like mine. Great clarity.

I will have a look for sure! I just noticed that Leupold have a 1.5-5x24 illuminated in the new VX3HD for $800 I think....

Looks good, but the reticles are a bit busy to my liking.... I want something that is simple hunting reticle with a red dot that’s all

Stay away from the vortex strike eagle1-8 and the bushnell 1-8 scopes
I have both and the eye relief on them is terrible
The 1-4 bushnell is good, Steiner 1-4 is good, Burris rt-6 and the xtr2 1-5 are also good in my expirence

Just have a look through a Steiner P4Xi 1-4...crisp and clear edge to edge....the reticle might be a style you are looking for too..center red dot and just a couple of hash marks. 4x might be worth considering?
....and if not good...well it will just help you confirm what you do purchase is the right purchase.
