how much rimfire ammo does the average gunnut have in stock. one or two cases four or five. just curious. i usually have have arround four myself. below that i start to worry.

There are various ways to store wealth. Gold is one way. But it sometimes goes down in value.

The cases of 22 ammo I bought (5,000 rounds each) for $200 will not lose value. Same for the Russian 7.62x39 ammo that Lebaron was selling for $149 a case.

If you see a deal, buy what you can. You will only regret what you did not buy.

Personally I probably have about 25 to 30 thousand rounds of rimfire (including 17 HMR). For my business about 4-5 million rounds...going fast as the varmints are poking up their heads this time of year. Phil.

I bought a ton of mine in 2008 after Obama's election as I was convinced that ammo would be in short supply. I was shooting on 22LR at the time as well as PAL air rifles. Don't regret the decision at all, as the 22LR ammo has gone up since then.

Hey does anyone know how long this ammo can last for and still be reliable? I keep it in a dry, and cool environment.

As long as you keep it in a dry and cool environment when you've shifted off you mortal coil someone else will be able to shoot it . as in if you do your part it will be good for ages . I remember being with my EX girlfriend in Lebanon's in Mississauga and they had Winchester wildcat 22 ammo on sale for something like $16.79 a brick . she said ah you have enough and I wasn't thinking correctly and only bought 2 bricks . what a mistake . I remember being at a gun show many years ago and the guy had Remington yellow jacket 22 bricks for get this $10 dollars a brick . I picked up a couple .

the answer for the OP is whatever you can afford and whatever makes you happy .

I have at least 100 rounds... :p I had a bunch that got flooded. A friend helped me to dump it all out of the boxes/bricks onto a blanket. We left it in the sun for a while and mixed it around every once in a while. Didn't hurt it.

Never hurts to buy more when it's on a sale.

Ah, I miss Lebaron...that place will always have sentimentality for me - that's where I bought my first guns, period. And tons of camping gear when the kids were younger.

Those were amazing prices for those bricks. I had bricks of CCI Stingers 22LR and they have been in storage for over 10 years...I can't believe the prices of comparable ammo now.

Tesro Canada. Marstar, Wolverine Supplies, Prophet River, Tenda. They have all served me well.

I will also give a shoutout for Firearms Outlet Canada (FOC) who is one of the sponsors here. That is also my local shop, and I have bought in person and online. They ship very fast and the shipping price is reasonable. Here's a link to the 22LR page, for your convenience.

I was just there last week and picked up some CCI Mini Mags.

so it seems the bulk of gunnuts keep a good supply in stock. i have a hard time not picking up a few bricks if its a decent price even if i have enough. seems i don't know what is enough.
