Very rare but bolt will jam in reciever, just need hit oprod handle same force to normally close action but happened twice in 1200 rounds, what's the deal all rounds are factory load 20 to 25 dollar box of 20 bullets all from 145 grain to 150 last one to happen was power shock, extreme good accuracy from irons 1.5 to 1.75 moa all day from nm non hooded sights, better shot with gun than scoped loaded springer. Max pack smith trigger is amazing. Krieger medium barrel So mad right now to pay do much for this to happen, all hr and smith ent parts, how can I fix this glass bedded stock too fml so happy no issues at all except these two times ??? Frustrated

did you have a look at what exactly was jammed when it happened? next time, don't just cycle the action manually. take pictures of the bolt, op rod, bolt lock, etc and post them here. I'm sure we'll find out what the quirk is.

Besides learning how to form proper sentences, I think you need to shoot the thing some more. Rifles are little machines that happen to fire bullets. From the factory they have to get broken in. The finish and springs have to find their place. The bolt sticking is probably not anything to worry about at all. Two malfunctions in over a thousand rounds sounds like a well functioning rifle, that might need more lube.

So hard to read..sentence structure missing...LRB good...have some problems..don't know why..

I think the OP means that occasionally his LRB malfunctions but he does not understand why. I don't know why he posted though.

Man, you guys are harsh.......
OP, message me as I don't think you are gonna get any help from the "experts" here LOL

Field strip the rifle and take the bolt out. Check for wear on the rear top portion of the bolt. Also have a look inside the heel of the receiver and check it for wear marks as well. There could be a burr in there. If you find nothing there start looking at the op rod tab and op rod track.

THEN take some pics and send them to that 45ACP guy, I heard he worked on an M14 once (or was it hundreds? Yeah that's it) ;)

Yup J996 in on the right track.
I've had the same scenario as OP play out
Could be debris in oprod channel
Could be burring at bolt bearing/contact points
On my rifle it was a bur on the rolloer side bolt lug on the bottom of the lug.
The bur was enough to cause the bolt to "just" hangup under the rear sight bridge.
A slight tap and oprod flies home.
Not saying this is you issue OP, but on the "tight" rifles, little things can jump up.
With 1200 rounds thru her though.... I'm gonna guess debris but ya never know

Thanks for sharing the expertise with us Tom. Ya had to admit that a small tease of the OP for the original post was in order :)

btw - ever get the metal-guru report back on that lunch pail springer ? That is such a cool story. PM me

Truthfully, there's a great many things that can cause the bolt to jam back
Debris
Brass bits
Burrs on the moving parts
Broken parts
Insufficient grease
It could be receiver/bolt/oprod related
Could be trigger/hammer/bolt related
Could be oprod saddle hanging up under barrel by burr or debris....
And I could go on ;)

I have found that Browning High Powers shoot badly when dry or lightly oiled. If you want you 9mm to run properly, leave a layer of carbon and hardened grease. For your M14, maybe you are forcing the gun to work too hard by not leaving enough graphite grease in the tracks, and on those odd times when something rides a little out of place, it drags too much.

I was just drunk and pissed off rant went on lol , I have torn down rifle and did full inspection. Realized oprod guide had shifted letting op rod rub on the reciever when op rod was all the way back. Binding at top of pocket for bolt roller on the oprod against part of reciever by stripper clip guide. I put new roll pin got oprod guide centred and now oprod doesn't contact or have any resistance when moving action. I would post pictures but can't find my damn camera and my phone can't take pics worth ####. There was definite wear marks on reciever and oprod. Also there was resistance when I pulled oprod all the way back before moving oprod guide. Quick fix I hope but seems ill find out when I get out shooting again
