Question for those with experience with both, I know a brake is a brake, some work better for follow up shots, all are noisy. Which do you prefer and why, I have LRB brakes on my two and a third rifle coming with one, but I have an SEI sitting here is it worth trying out or keeping it bnib to sell and keeping my LRB's uniform.

Cheers

While I haven't had the pleasure of shooting with an LRB brake, I've shot a whole lot of other ones on my m14 rifles, mostly shorties.

The coast guard brake is second to none on these rifle in my opinion. I have a short video I'll post when I get home.

I would also like to know and is the SEI coast guard break any good as well

I can only compare the coast guard brake to the stock flash hider, and to me it's a significant improvement from a recoil mangement perspective. It allows for 2nd and 3rd shots (for me) while still on target. Then again, I might just be forcing myself to shoot better since I dropped some $ on an SEI brake. :)

But in all seriousness, I do think the SEI brake makes a big difference.

here's a short 4 round video. was 5 but we had a case jam up between oprod and smith enterprise mount on round 1 (doesn't just happen to arms 18's lol)
rounds 2 and 3 are an intentional double tap.
note the lack of muzzle rise by watching the muzzle against the spot light on my hood. straight back push and excellent target aquisition.

Name the CGN member that is in this video...

That's my friend David Armstrong, he works at NSWC CRANE. He also came up with the SAGE EBR chassis.

I am on the left side of this picture holding a yellow T-shirt, Dave is in the middle holding the red back pack.

The muzzle device used in the video is the Smith Enterprise Good Iron M14 US Coast Guard / Navy Muzzle Brake.
