I finally have gotten to spend some time with my new LTR
I took it out to the range last night and shot 10 groups.
My questions are what type of groups should I expect from a stock LTR with a trigger job?
I was also wondering how do you define MOA or sub MOA??
Is it the raw size of the hole or do you subtract the bullet diameter?

Out of my 10 groups at 100 meter(not yards) 8 of the groups were about one inch(some .750 some 1.200") that was the raw size of the hole, I did get one group that was .530" raw size using 168gr federal gold medal.

Is that what I should expect with factory loads? or should it shoot better than that? I'm sure the inconsistancy was me not the rifle or ammo but just curious what measurement you guys are taking about when you quote group size?
How much better should I expect with handloads?

thx guys

Sounds as if your rifle is shooting just fine. You can experiment with different bullets and see which work best for you. Lapua, Sierra, Hornady, Nosler, Berger all make excellent bullets. There are many variables with which you can experiment, powder, cases, primers, seating depth, neck vs fl sizing, etc.
But realistically, your rifle is shooting just fine. Develop a consistant handload that does at least as well, then get out to the range and do some shooting.
