My newest acquisition and my first air gun. I saw this in my cousin's basement and after close inspection and fondling (as you do as a gun owner), I had to have one. Finally found one in an auction in the US and had it shipped over. This thing is awesome and is so accurate! The Lucznik (Predom) Model 87 Soviet Block (Polish) Cold war was used as a military trainer to boot.

they are pretty decent.. i have a model 88 which i beleive is the same gun just a fancier stock

My dad got it at 13 and reduced the local bird population, then i got it at 13 and did the same, thousands of pellets through it in my basement, and was the reason i am on this site

mine originally came from canadian tire in 1973

I have one also, but it is marked Archer?, Very well built, love the decocker to make reloading easier!
Didn't know these were mil trainers? Just bought it as it was built by my country men
Sits in the back porch for quick access for rogue squirrels

As far as the Lucznik (Archer) 87 being a "military trainer," it's worth keeping in mind that this rather loose descriptor would include school-related pre-military service programs such as introduction to firearms and shooting. Canadian cadets use air rifles to introduce shooting skills, usually the Daisy 853C, a sub-500 fps single stroke pneumatic. If the Lucznik is a "military trainer," then so too is the Daisy.

It is possible to determine the date of manufacture of the Lucznik 87. After 1967, a letter was used before the serial number to indicate date of manufacture: A – 1967, B – 1968, C – 1969, D – 1970, E – 1971, F – 1972, G – 1973, H – 1974, I – 1975, J – 1976, K – 1977, L – 1978, M – 1979 and N – 1980. The absence of a letter would suggest a pre-1966 air rifle. The 87 model rifle was made from 1956 to 1972, after which it had a name change to Predom-Lucznik. Production ended in 1980.

thanks... my 88 was made in 1970

Had a similar rifle as a kid . I have no idea what happened to it .

Are these available anywhere in Canada ? I would love to pick one up for the kids .

IIRC, there were numerous Soviet Bloc pellet rifles floating around when I was a kid (60's and early 70's). I grew up in NE Ontario.
