Lux ?

Hello guys,

Anyone have experience with the Cz Lux (pros, cons)?
Is it worth the $ or should I just buy a Ruger 10/22?

Thanks Jozsef

I have a Lux and it is a great shooting rifle right out of the box. If you wish you can spend $20.00 and kit a trigger adjustment kit from a gut on rimfire Central called YoDave. He lives on Vancouver Island. I just shot the open sights on mine last week with cheap ammo and shot a couple of mighty fine groups at 25 yards. They came with a very nice set of sights, usually a decent piece of walnut. I have a beautiful older 10/22 in mint condition and it too is a good shooter, but it seldom makes it out of the safe any more. FS

You will be happy with either one. I have both, but started with the lux. Loved the accuracy once I found the right ammo. It's nice when you can't blame the gun anymore for a miss.
The 10/22 is for a different kind of shooting, get a 25 round clip or two and blast away at tin cans etc. It won't offer the accuracy of the lux, but repeat shots are readily available. Once you get it sorted, a 10/22 is at it's best shooting gophers. Since you don't live too close to gophers, I'd get the lux. Actually, I'd get the American instead, since I prefer scope shooting and don't like to be so high off the cheekpiece. For a high quality bolt action at a reasonable price point, they don't have much competition in the .22 realm.
Having said all that, it's usually the 10/22's that leave the safe, while the CZ stays at home, since it's tin can season around here.

I have a brno 2e which I think is like a lux. I also have a 452 american and varmint. As you can tell I like them all. They are very classy and accurate as well.
