does anybody have experience with this round in a mosin nagant,i just tricked mine out for deer and moose and i'm looking for an affordable SP round for hunting,i'm not looking to spend much on SP,im only going to shoot maybe 120 rounds of SP a year(119 at targets and sighting in and 1 at a deer)

I have no experience with LVE but the SCDS 200gr sp that Westrifle sells shoots very accurately out of
an svt-40 . Free shipping too

If you look at the SCDS 7.62x54 200gr SP, you'll see the cases are stamped LVE on the rim. SCDS is listed as an importer of LVE ammo. I think they are the same, and only differ in the box they ship in.

the 200grain scds is super accurate in my svt40 and I plan on taking that out for my bear outings, if I get something I will for sure let everyone how the bullets perform.

It bang-flops them every time. I can get a bit more accuracy with my .312 homeloads, but LVE is the best commercial round I've fired, and I can't reload them for much less.

I went through a case of the LVE FMJ from westrife, and it was amazing stuff. I just bought the LVE SP from westrifle as well (now called SCDS). Looks like the same stuff but with s soft point. Hope it cycles well in the SVT. From the above posts it does. The MFS SP I found FTF every once in a blue moon.

I agree with the above. Great stuff. Not very dirty. I had a hard time deciding between this and MFS but id say that the LVE has the slight edge, even though the MFS ammo looks cooler.

Fiddler, some beautiful animals you have there. What's the furthest range that you're comfortable shooting at with irons on these rifles?

I did a trigger job and cork barrel bedding on my mosin carbine. I plan on using it as my go to rifle next season. I'll have to pick up some of that ammo from west rifle, it's a great price when compared to local MFS prices for a box of 20.

I'm good for 150 if I have a tree or something to rest on. Most shots are bush and rolling hill shots and not too likely to get that far. The ammo is no problem at all. Good at 300+ with a scope.

I have a couple M38s and M44s that I've been to the range with, but not gone hunting with. The carbines breath fire with 204gr LVE rounds.
