Hey Guys,
Does anyone know if you can find the Remington 700 LVSF in 7mm-08 in Canada? I know in the US they are popular, but in Canada, all I can find is varmint calibres. Everyone I've talked to says its an American special order if I want one. Anyone see one in Canada?
I'm thinking a Remington LSS Mtn in 7-08 might be the nearest thing for a new project, but I'd REALLY like the LVSF instead. Any info appreciated....

Me thinks Remington discontinued the LVSF in anything but the "Varmint" Cartridges:cool:
I'd check with your local Rem dealer and see if maybe they are available through the Custom shop ?

the 7-08 LVSF was in the Remington site last year and I saw one in the EE last year. Wholesale & Russells etc listed them in their catalogs. The 308 LVSF was a special run for Gander Mtn or some other large US sporting goods chain.

You could spend countless hours searching for one in Canada. If it were me, I'd suggest doing what I DID, and send a 700 action to a gunsmith and get a custom LVSF contour tube screwed on. Bingo Bango, 7-08 LVSF (Mine is a 260) that will outshoot anything that a factory can make.

Thats kinda what I thought it was gonna be....a battle to find one in Canada.....

I was just considering the 7-08 in a LSS Mtn and dropping it in a Mcmillan, Wildcat, etc and calling it done.....that fluted bbl sure looks nice though....

Got it in the mail today.....cleaned it up a bit and tossed on the Talleys and Leupold VXIII 3.5-10......looks nice and seems to fit good. The stock aint horrible, and will last for the year until I toss it in a McMillan or Wildcat....

the light varmint stock isnt bad at all, made by Bell & Carlson (although someone on 24hr.com said a Remington rep told him they were made by McMillan). I got one on my custom 260, not a bad stock for the $ they sell for

No, definatly not bad....very similar to the Ti stock of course, also made by B&C.....I might give it a paintjob this winter, before deciding whether to swap it out......overall the gun is a nice lookin rig...
