I know how you feel. Looks like NEA-Troy might have some competition for PDW stocks. The LWRC one looks pretty slick.

why do they need that kinda stock if its piston driven? I thought everything happens in the upper, and there is no need for the buffer assembly?

If the piston was connected to the bolt carrier, like the AK or SIG 540, then no need for a buffer assembly at the rear of the action. However piston AR's are not connected to the bolt carrier group so a recoil buffer is needed.
