I just got a 1200dps and decided to see if the Lee scale would give me the same reading as what the 1200 put out. I set the 1200 to give me 43gr of powder then I put that on the Lee scale and I got 43.4. Which do you think is the more correct reading? I have never been a fan of the Lee scale and it's rink-e-dink way of setting the scale and was never confident of what charge I was actually getting or being able to repeat it. I was allways confident that it would be close to what I wanted but never confident that the next time I set the scale that it would be the same as last time.

There is a .93% difference between the two. Not much of a difference, within the instruments' calibration tolerances, IMHO. We do not know which one of the two scales is the absolute correct reading or both could be off.

The Lee safety scale takes some getting used to, but it is consistent enough for me. Try taking several readings of the same item, say a paper clip and see if they are consistent.

You need 3 scales. Its the only way to veryfy which 2 are the most accurate. :D

I'm joking of course but I do have 3 scales. :D
