Does anybody know where I can get Lyman 45 Bullet lube/sizer instructions? I have looked on the Lyman site and they have 450/4500 but nothing with 45. My friend gave it to me and it was given to him from an estate sale, I don't have a clue how to use this thing.

Lyman 45?

How does the 45 differ from a 450, do you know?
I have used a 450 for quite a long time. It can be exasperating at times, in trying to get the bullet exactly in right postion, so it won't leak lub arond it.
What is the numbers on the dies you got with it?

I don't know that is the problem, there is years of hard lube caked on the sizer die. I would assume I would have to heat the base up a bit to get the lube to flow and then somehow get the die out, thus I need the instructions. From what I have gathered the way you get the die out is different from the 45 than the 450/4500.

I have both a 45 and a 450, The procedure for removing the die is the same, I use a 3/8 inch nut under the die to push the die out once you have the set screw undone.

A heat gun or hair dryer is needed to get the old lube flowing.

The main diffence between the two is the 450 uses a nut collar to hold the sizer in place while the 45 uses a set screw. Plus the 450 uses compound leverage to make sizing easier. Other than that the operation is the same for both.

I use soft lube in the 45 for pistol bullets and hard lube in the 450 for rifle bullets.

hope this answers your question
