What is everybody's recipes with these? I recommend these to everybody who tinkers, hunts and plinks.
I tried my first batch with pretty much pure lead as far as I know. Melted some Hummison #2 shot I had laying around since we can't hunt waterfowl with lead anymore. I used Remington hulls, Claybuster 12S3 equivalent wads, a 1/16" 16 ga shotcard in base of wad, wax in base of slug leveled and cut flush with base of slug, too many grains of Hogdon Long Shot to publish here. I tried Federal Gold Medal hulls too and didn't really notice enough difference.
Where a mouth guard when shooting this. It shoots awesome though. I shot it out of a Hastings rifled barrel with iron sites. First 3 shots at 30 were touching. 3 touching at 60 (same POI as 30). same POI at 100 yards. I then rolled a propane tank out to 130 yards, POI dropping after 100. I would feel very confident shooting game to 100 yards with this slug and it costs a fraction of the price as premium saboted slugs.
