I have a Luman Universal Case Trimmer that I have had for many yrs and have trimmed many many cases with. I have noticed that the brass bushing that the cutter shaft goes thru has become sloppy. It is no longer a snug fit and wobbles around quite a bit. Has anyone who owns one of these units ever had this happen to them??? Can the bushing be replaced without sending it back to Lyman??

Thanks

I had the same thing happen to my Lyman trimmer a few years ago. i contacted Lyman about getting a replacement bushing. They told me that I should send the trimmer in because the bushing is a press fit. I asked about cost & at the time they said around $10-15. When I eventually sent it in it came back with a replaced bushing and a bill that said N/C.
Nearly all the reloading equipment companies are top notch when it comes to product service and replacement.

I contacted them this morning, and some ###y sounding thing told me to throw it in a box and ship it to them and they would have a look at it and do the repair if needed. She never said anyhing about cost, but I figure I will deal with that when the time comes .

I have had my Lyman trimmer for many years as well, and it is still running true.

I have always kept the shaft oiled and maybe that is the trick to its long life.

I wonder just how long the cutting tip will last? Most of my casings are either 22cal or 30cal so the tip is well used in these two areas.

I have always lubed mine with some some RCBS case lube, but it never seemed to help! :?
