Hey folks,
Just a heads-up that if you're planning on purchasing a Lyman electronic scale, insist in the store that you get to plug it in to find out if it works!

I purchased one (1500XP) a couple of years ago, drove home (over 400km) and plugged it in to find that it wouldn't work properly. $30.00 later to mail it to Lyman for repair, it worked fine.

Fast forward to the first week in November this year...............flood in the basement, scale wrecked. Insurance replacement of the scale at Wholesale Sports (Kamloops store). Return home (over 400 km) to find that the new one doesn't work. Same as last one.
Pretty bad that 2 brand new scales won't work. Spend over $300.00 each for defective products.

I phoned Wholesale Sports, and was told that I can mail it back to them. I will be getting a refund and won't be buying a Lyman Scale again. Too bad I'll be out the postage (again).

A HEARTY PAT ON THE BACK TO WHOLESALE SPORTS FOR STANDING BEHIND WHAT THEY SELL!

i do way everything twice elec. and beam scale just cause i want to make sure of grains
but i find i have to calibrate the elect. ooften for it to weigh close to my beam scale

i should've waited and buy an acculab scale :bangHead:

I had one of the smaller Lyman's (can't remember the model) one time. It worked really well for about 5 or 6 years and then just died.

I also have the Lyman scale and it is not sensitive enough. I can add 4-7 pieces of powder and no change is registered and on my 10-10 regular scale, that would equate to a lot of movement.
I also have to calibrate it every few rounds.
I should have researched and found a more accurate and most likely expensive one. Maybe this one would be ok for shotgun loading or something where a few tenths error would be ok.
This type of inaccuracy is not acceptable to me. Mine sits on my shelf, never used.
