i have a lyman gen 6 auto powder dispenser it worked well once or twice then i left it for a while next time it wanted to over shoot the setting every time i called lyman they said to cold to hot to high humidity static el on the plastic leave it on for an hour prior etc,,,,,,,i tried all this and then eventually it got a mind of its own would not take any inputs as programed and last time it just refused to light up .......anyone have experience like this thanks for your input don
 
I have a Gen I with upgrades to Gen III and if I leave plugged in for an extended (sometimes a few months) period of time without use it will be unresponsive when I try it but so far (15 yrs or more of use) a simple unplug & re-boot cures any maladies it had.
You mention yours will "over shoot", mine does that with certain stick powders of the IMR variety (especially 3031), anything with a shorter kernel (the old SR 4759, AA5744) is almost perfect at every "drop".
