Lyman Gen 6?

I’m no pro reloaded but I picked one up a couple of years ago and have been fairly happy with the price I paid for it.

Always let the thing warm up for as long as you can, I found that turning it on and letting it sit for 20-30 minutes gave me better results.
It almost always seems to throw a tenth under what I want so I just account for that these days and I find it certainly useable.
That being said, if you’re paying full retail price at 350 I think, id have spent the extra and gone with the charge master from RCBS. Only reason I went with the Lyman gen 6 is it was on sale for 200.00 on Boxing Day and I had a 2 dollar off coupon.

Yah, I got one on sale for about 200$ too at cabelas last year. Works fine for my need, but I'm not a benchrest shooter. For stick powders I wouldn't use anything manual anymore. Haven't tried any competing products so I can't compare, but I can hardly see how a more expensive model would work better for my need.

If the price is 350$, then it is a bit steep imho. You might wanna stalk cabela's website, amazon, the EE or other vendors for a gen6 or a rcbs chargemaster on sale. Those things are merely a 20-50$ electronic scale with a trickler, there's no reason they should cost 10X the price of the scale.

I have the Gen 5 and I consider it money very well spent. I would imagine that the Gen 6 will be as good if not better. I think you will be extremely happy with it.

I ended up getting it for 289 from my local shop. Had to show him the screensaver shot I had from Cabelas sale.
I like it. Really fast and easy to use. If it throws over or under .1 once in awhile, i just dump it back in the hopper.
Sure does speed things up.
