Lyman Great Plains Hunter (1:32): bullet and load recommendations?

So I bought my Lyman Great Plains at LeBaron before I knew about the difference in rates of twist. I've been having loads of fun with it, but oddly enough I seem to get better results out of patched roundballs than I do out of the few types of sabots I've tried.

Muzzleloader season in my area is creeping up and I'm wondering what those of you in the know use in yours. What bullets and loads do you find work well?

If yours is 1:32, try a conical bullet like a LEE R.E.A.L. or TC Maxi-Ball (not a sabot).

A 1:32 twist should preform quite will with smaller charges of FFFg powder and round balls, however, as mentioned above this is really a conical twist.

It is my understanding that twists like 1:24ish are sabout twists.

That being said, the first rule of black powerder smoke poles is that each rifle is a rule onto itself, and the only way to find out what works is to try it.

There is a canadian company Precision Rifle Custom Muzzleloader Bullets(Anola, Manitoba, to be exact) that specializes in conical, and other black powder bullets. They seem to get exceptional, repeatable results, and I would give them a try.

PR bullets work great try the Keith Nose hollow point that they have or use the T/C Maxi

I get good accuracy out of my G.P. Hunter model with Lyman Great Plains bullets, as well as, of all things, Powerbelts!

It just feels kinda silly stuffing plastic down into a neat old-style flinter.
