Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
Does it work? Is it a gimmick?
"Contains petroleum distillates."

Wouldn't be surprised if it's mainly Mineral Spirits. Bet you there is some home brew alternative that works and saves a bit of dough. Don't take my word for it though. Tumbler just gets new lizard media when needed.

Edit: the MSDS does indeed say Petroleum Disstillant, hydro treated light. If memory serves me right, that's a form of kerosene. i did some googlefu and couldn't find reference to home remedies, but there are lots of mention of adding mineral spirits to "reactivate the polish" and some warning about fire. *shrugs* I'm sure someone with more experience/experiments will chime in.

nu finish car wax, pour it in while the tumbler is running with no brass in it, 4 or 5 caps worth in a 2500 turbo sized tumbler and then run it until the clumps disappear before adding brass, or throw in some range pickups to agitate the mixture

Most polishing media activators have the powdered polishing compound found in jewelers rouge. This is what does most of the physical polishing. This is found in lots of vehicle finishing waxes/polishes as well. It works just fine for sure!

Works like a wonder. Just make sure to run the shells in clean media after, to remove all extra polish from inside the brass. Over long term a small amount of the compound reacts with gun power and seems to make it clump, never seems to affect speed, accuracy and detonation, still bugged me that it clumped. I noticed once when a primer failed and I took the bullet out and noticed the clumping. But I love the stuff its my go to polish.
