My Frankford tumbler finally died after 10 years of steady use. I got myself a Lyman 1200 to replace it. Wow! What an improvement! The Lyman takes half the time to get the same results. Even with the funnel installed in the FA it wouldn’t agitate nearly as well as the Lyman does.

Had I known I would’ve switched years ago, the electricity savings alone would’ve been worth it.

If you dnt use the S/S pins what would you use?

Nothing. Tumbling without pins does a good enough job if you're not looking for sparkling case interiors or pristine primer pockets.

I have a Lyman 1200 I bought in the late 80's and it's still going strong. I've blown through two others that have crapped out (a Frankford and a Berry's Mfg.) but the Lyman just keeps ticking. I don't know if the new ones are built a well but the old ones were really good.

is it still wet tumbled?

I still wet tumble with about a tbsp of dish soap, a cup of vinegar, and about a quarter cup of citric acid (bought a big bag on Amazon). As 4n2t0 says, they come out very clean but without the SS pins the primer pockets are not sparkling clean. I just rinse them off, dry them, and reload.
