Lynx Recipe ideas please

Cook it like a roast they cut into finger sized pieces and dip in batter , cook in deep fryer and then you have lynx balls. Great with sweet and sour sauce

Never cooked lynx but cooked lots of cougar. One of the favorites is to cut it into small pieces and marinate it in soy, ginger, garlic, orange juice and some chilis, then dredge in flour/cornmeal and fry it. Like Asian dry ribs. Yum.

No offense meant, and to each their own, but I can't imagine eating Lynx. Or for that matter Cougar, but that's just me.

To each their own I agree.
But, the opportunity was there and has been seized.
I suppose a pot roast with a lighter than normal demi glace will be in order.
Might have to try something I stumbled across on the internet.
Making a demi glace with chicken bones...of course it will be for way less hours in the oven when cooking the chicken bones.
Thanks guys for the input.
Oh, btw there is nary a piece of hair on this pink meat .

Congrats on getting your Lynx Rob, did you end up taking it near Spuzzum?

Don't know if I could eat the poor little kitty...

Important for cooking cats- Make sure all the silver skin, tendons, gristle etc are removed. You don't really want to be reminded that you are eating a cat while you are eating it.

At first, I thought Rob was being funny, but I see he is serious. Many of the rest of you are also serious about eating cat. The word is that Chinese
view it as a delicacy, so there must be some appeal. Cats being primarily meat eaters, the taste must be strong. What is it like?

Closest thing I cna think of is pork. Cougar meat even looks similar to pork. It's not a real strong flavour, unless you get piece of gristle. I would drink a Merlot with it. A Cabernet Savignon would be a bit too bold.

I have not tried lynx yet but had cougar at the annual banquet in our rod & gun club. It was prepared as a curry with vegetables served over wild rice. It was actually delicious. I can imagine lynx tastes similar.

As for to drink I had a cold beer with it but I think a white wine would pair well with it.

conor_90, this was not a cat I hunted, but a different opportunity.
I still did not make the effort to head out for one myself this season.
Work schedule was to blame.
It is still on my bucket list of things to do.
Have some more local intell as to where to find these kitties.
But, alas the season has wound down and it is time to feast .
Thanks Guys for the fun read and the serious ones too.
Here kitty kitty he says in his best Alf voice.
