I am in need of a M-14 Bolt Roller retainer and possibly a Bolt roller. If anyone knows where I may attain said items I would much appreciate the information. Thx Travis..........Rigrat

Brownells
Use their "buy parts by diagram" function
Get the M1A parts diagram, zoom in on bolt
You want the Bolt Roller Clip.
I try to always have at least one spare roller and clip in my M14 holy szhit kit ;)
The hard part is finding the tool put it back on.

I had to install one once, I didn't have the tool. It was a nightmare.

The most challenging thing I have ever tried to do. A guy gets weepy when it finally goes. My M1A Standard has spit the roller off a couple times. If you hold your mouth the right way and use an exacto knife and a jewelers screwdriver it can be done with a weaker clip. A new clip ain't going. There are links to instructions to make the clip pliers. You need a set of side cutters, bench grinder and a drill bit about 0.270" diameter.

Out of curiosity, how many rounds in that M1A?
I know you know your rifles so please don't take any offense at this but busting rollers is a sign something ain't right.

For M1A's it's often the roller "just" making contact with receiver under the roller. Easily remedied by relieving the receiver.

On norincos, I found a few newer ones 2012's, where inside the oprod pocket was hammering the roller in full lock up.
Once the bolt is closed and oprod fully forward, the roller should be "loose" in there. Remedied with a dremel just enough so there is no pressure on the roller from the rear of the oprod pocket once closed.

Couple things to check on any M14 type rifle, especially if it has any tendency to go thru bolt rollers.

I was aware of the roller issue where it makes contact in battery and mine has ample clearance up front. It makes light contact under the clip guide. It wasn't until I looked into installing the roller did I find out about this issue. I have relieved the area under the stripper clip guide with a jewelers file. Work slow and check often. I was out earlier today and it still makes light contact. A very simple fix. Requires a file and several traditional ale.

I had contacted SAI 4 times about this and I was ignored completely. They had before sent me a pin for the trigger with just an email. The rifle shoots well otherwise and today I got a 1.5" 5 shot group with irons. Goes nice with the 12" groups. This rifle has under 200 rounds through it to date. I purchased it in 02 and was saving it. Not sure what for. I had been shooting two other M1A's with no issues. I sold one several months ago and decided to shoot this one. My other is an older Super match with GI parts, hart barrel and McMillan stock. Keeping that one.

Just want to thank everyone for their input and help in getting the parts to repair my M1A bolt. I made a tool from a set of Chain Link Pliers. Had to spend an hour on the grinder to take of the excess material and got it down to a thickness of .0675" Then Drilled out the second hole to 7mm and on the third attempt got the roller onto the bolt. If I had to do it again I would make a small press to work in conjunction with the pliers. Again thanks for all the help. RIGRAT

I went to the fishing store and bought leader crimper pliers. Drilled a 9/32 hole 0.280" and filed them narrower. Once they were thin enough they worked perfect one try.
