m-14 clinic for vancouver island ?????????

if someone wants to take the lead and find a suitable location , I would be up for it. mid may to end of june works for a time frame.

This will take one person to lay the ground work, find the location and set the date, figure out any costs for location ect. costs will be covered by a clinic fee..... space rental, travel cost ect. ..... basically as Hungry would put it....... the clinic needs a pointman.

any volunteers :D

as a side note, I'm working on a 2011 M14 clinic 2 day bash at my place up here in 100 mile for mid to late July if anyone is interested.
 
I caught the tail end of one of his clinics at the last Victoria show, but I also just bought my m14 at that show so alot was lost on me as I wasn't familiar enough with it yet. Alternativly to Victoria, if I make an attempt to get one together in Nanaimo would there be interest in that? Split the distance for any north island enthusists?
 
I won't be willing to do a clinic in the victoria area...... will have to be somewhere else on the island..... Nanaimo perhaps.... any other ranges than VFG ? Alberni would be awesome.... campbell river as well...... I'll be in Nootka/tahsis for as many 5 day west coast fishing trips this summer as I can fit in so might be willing to do a clinic at the beginning or end of one of those trips.
march/april and first half of may are out of the question, building a few VIP rifles over the next couple months..... rock stars, private security ect...... a big reason the shop is closed to regular bookings ;)
June 30 to july 15th th i'll be on a road trip across canada
and sometime late july /early august I would like to host a 2 day clinic camp out BBQ bash at my place up here in the cariboo.
Vancouver area folks...... seems the trap house at poco is still closed due to the renovator draggin his ass so when the weather warms we will get clinics going again at TonyG's shop untill a suitable Home is found for regualr clinics with range on hand.
 
Well I'll make an effort to look at getting some options for Nanaimo, I don't know anyone involved with the Campbell River club, does pre June work best?

nanaimo would be perfect logistically ;)
and the month of june itself is great all around.
 
I am located in Campbell River and have attended one of Tomass' clinics in the past.
We have a nice 600 yd range and a clubhouse for tweaking the rifles. But unfortunately I have work commitments that will more than likely preclude me from attending a clinic here. If nothing else comes up I would be willing to help someone plan something here.
 
Thomas I would like to attend one of your clinics.
Maybe when you come here to hunt this November you can invite a bunch of guys to come along then they can go directly from the clinic to killing deers you guys are allowed 15 each(Queen Charlotte islands deer are small but tasty)
send everyone out with some dear calls and their tuned up rifles.
I can picture everyone posing for pictures with their rifles and a massive stack of carcasses behind them.

You sure you didn't get that mixed up with Kokanee salmon out of Lake Koocanusa???:p

Even if they are small, that's a lotta Bambi meat.

15 deer is the same as 2 moose and a lot more fun to hunt.
I know all the hotspots but I'm not telling Ha-Ha
one spot me and a couple of friends hunted for 12 hours legal daylight hunting between us we got 97 deer during a call(we are Indians with big families)
that is where I'm taking Thomas it is my hotspot!

I do not want to hijack this thread.
Just throwing it out for the doctor to consider having one of is clinics here.
You're right though it is a tremendous amount of work.
I only got 21 because all I had with me was 22lr, my buddies got the rest they had 30-06 and my ATV had no brakes so sometimes I would go right past them. This year I will be hunting with one of Thomases custom.
I kept 15 deer and the rest of them went to single mothers thay skin and process them themselves.
most of our deer are given away so it is not that extreme.
 
Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) is simply loaded with 1/2 pint size coastal deer. Hunting these deer at least once in my lifetime is high on my "to do before i croak" list.
I have an affinity for blacktails and thier smaller west coast cousins.

CarverK...... any chance of an Elk on that trip...... been scouring my hunting regs and google earth maps :D :D and I see that Elk will be open at the same time as the deer trip.

I still have to look into all the particulars of getting there.... will be a first time trip for me and i'm gonna drive to rupert.

as for clinics...... if you would like a clinic in your area of B.C. this summer and think your area can gather 15 to 20 attendees.... with range space being optional.... not a necessity....... figure out some particulars on your end and p.m. me with the place and possible dates and I'll see what I can schedule.

I'll be travelling to Saskatchewan for the cgn gopher shoot weekend and if anyone wants me to bring the tools and stuff...... consider it done.
 
it is a hard hunt fore elk plan on 1week to find and kill 2ore3 day pack swomp hard hunt I can make it happen!! clinic in price rupert mite be best nice fore all us north western guys
