Thought you guys might like this.

This is a book called "Do you know what I am going to do next Saturday". It was written by Helen Palmer in 1963. It is part of the Random House Beginner Books series, the Dr Seuss Division.

There are things I want to do
Did you ever play
with the United States Marines?

Shooting!
I'll go shooting
with the United States Marines.

Little guns! Big guns!
I'll shoot every gun
that they shoot.

The Marines will like my shooting,
And they are going to like me.

What a change from nowadays when you get expelled from school for bringing a picture of your older brother, carrying his rifle in Iraq, to show and tell.

I bet you that kid could out shoot most of us by now.
;)
It also proves how little recoil that these rifles have. I went to the range yesterday and there were a few newbies there. So I offered them a chance to blast my m14 & 1911. At first they were all scared and thought that it had way to much recoil. After they put a few rounds down range they all wanted to shot mine more than there friends gun's that were a glock & AR-15.

All it would take is one Canadian arms manufacture with big pockets to start advertising pro gun.

*pinches self* damn i was dreaming again.

I miss the old days. I got a funny look at my little cousins 8th Bday party when I got him a GI Joe for Pete's sake, like I was some weirdo for buying him somthing that wasnt PC to them but it was what he wanted.

Just put an order in for that book. My Son will have an excellent time reading that with his friends in School...I can hear the weak kneed Liberal teachers dialing my phone number already (They have mine on speed dial).

ha, I'd love to hear the stories you probably have about your song's liberal teachers and guns! Please share!

Wow...how times have changed. On a similar note, I remember all the C.B. Colby books and other such which I read at our school library when I was much younger. Those books would have been pulled from the shelves to accomodate the PC policies of today's schools.
