Good day fellow gun guys (and gals) I have a norinco m-14 and i am having a few issues with it. It will miss fire and it looks like the bolt face is not closing all the way after cycling. Any suggestions?

With factory ammo or handloads? Handloads will require small based dies to function properly..........Harold

I would check and make sure it is clean and that nothing is binding on the bolt. The stickies at the top of this section have some good info on the way the bolt sholud fit.
Does the action cycle freely and the bolt close properly when you have no ammo in it? Has someone changed out the bolt or is it the original one.

PS don't shoot it till you solve the problem. If you manage to cook off a round when the bolt is not fully engeged you can cause some serious issues with your rifle and possibly with yourself.

Start by cleaning it all, bolt, gas system, ops rod and give the chamber a good scrub. Then use factory ammo or known working surplus ammo that chamber freely. Make sure the magazine lips are not damaged in any way. If the problem is not resolved, come back on the forum with details.

and..... cuz it needs to be repeated a million times..... make sure there is NO oil/grease in your gas assembly, it should be bone dry..... AND first thing is check and make sure the oprod is not binding on the stock up near the front of it's travel... then... if that fails.... take some time to read through the main battle rifle stickies.... you'll find the answer
