O.K.! I know I should spent megabucks on a scope for a M-14 BUT I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY!!!
I want a scope that will not break, that will be powerfull enough for coyote hunting, a scope good enough for 300m. shooting.
Is it possible and do you have experiences to tell me. I don't want to put 600$ for a scope un a rifle worth 400$ ...plus I already said that i don't have the $$$ for it now:runaway::50cal:
I'M GOING CRAZY ABOUT THIS QUESTION!!!! AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

First off, get a good solid mount. Wolverine has the ARMS 18 for just under two hundred dollars. I just ordered one yesterday.
If you get a solid mount, even a so-so scope can perform well on your Norc. If you don't have a first rate mount, the recoil can beat the bejabbers out of an otherwise tough scope.

M14s are not worth $400.... We 'steal' them for $400 for a nice receiver with all the bits hanging on it already :p

Most guys buy it for the receiver and if they want, go to town on changing everything...or nothing.

Optics are never 'cheap' unless you want the quality to be so as well. The fact is, if you want to count pennies for M14 scope mounting....you'll likely spend more on the mount and rings than what the M14 cost if you want it done right.......Additionally, the mount and rings might then cost more than the scope.

For the $250 range, 3200 in 10x40 mildot is prime example of M14 glass.

PLUS 1 ....
I picked mine up for $ 200 used.

I can also recommend the old Bushnell Scopechief VI ... I have a couple in 4X that have been with me for a few years.

X3 for the Bushnell Elite 3200 10X40 mildot :D

Laz2000 makes the point on one other component, not to be neglected (in the FAQ, as well as multiple times at the Wet Coast get together...); that's the cheapo buffer, to tone down that M14 sing'n....

Sorry dude.
The m14 has a distinct resonance, set up by all the parts working together. If you pull your action rearward and release (don't ride it, let it slam forward under spring tension...); listen for the harmonics...if it's 'in tune' you'll hear it 'sing', if not, it'll give a dull thud like sound. I've got two, the straight outta' the box sings nicely; the cut down shorty in a fat stock just does the 'thud' routine.
The buffer, available for about $5 from Marstar, dampens the harmonics of the weapons action, thus preventing some of those nice sound waves from damaging your optics (sound is, after all, vibration...).

Hope that clarifies abit for you.

WileE Coyote:

We call this the "ping" test in my M14 clinics. Do this right now... remove the magazine and ensure your rifle is unloaded and empty.

Rack the rifle and let the bolt fly forward. Ecoutez pour le "Ping"... C'est bon, n'est ce pas ?

If it is longer , c'est meilleur (better)

Enjoie l'addiction
