While cleaning my M-14 I noticed the gas system has started to get a fair amount of play in it and was wondering where is the best place to get shims. I also noticed that the op rod support? (loop under the barrel) is a little lose will a new roll pin tighten it back up?

Try a new pin on the op-rod guide, use some red loctite at the same time around the barrel/guide contact.
