I took my new M-14 out yesterday and experienced a couple of Stove Pipes. I have the Marstar rail on it, could this be part of the proplem? I also noticed last night, when I got home, that my gas cylinder nut was a little loose. Could this be contributing to the proplem?
Any help would be greatley appreciated.

Thanks.:)

another CGNer was expierience the same problems at the range last time me an him went out it was in fact the gas cylender nut that was causing it to stove pipe on his
its most likely the same issue apparently the loose nut allows some of the gas to be released and doesnt cycle the bolt properly

I'm glad that you found that the gas plug was ONE of the usual suspects.

Here are the others:

* GREASE that sum#####! Bolt lugs, lug raceways, op rod raceways, op rod guide under the barrel (figure 8 thingamajiggeee), hammer nose where bolt pushes hammer rearward (look for the wear spots and grease

* Ensure that your spindle valve is lined up right (up and down) to allow gas flow into the piston face & gas cylinder. I did this once, cost me a beer when a friend embarrassed me in front of the crowd.

Cheers,
Barney
