M-14S Game Ammo

Federal Vital Shock 150's are accurate and effective on deer. They have a Nosler ballistic tip bullet. More money than the regular Federals but they are accurate and a decent bullet. Well worth it if you only shoot a few to finish sighting in and 1 or 2 at a deer.
 
No heavy bullets, and none of the new regular case-magnum velocity power rounds. The issue bullet is 147gr, so try 150gr hunting ammo to stay well within the rifle's comfort zone. If one load doesn't group, buy something else. Ammo itself is consistent, but it is variable that will perform differently from one rifle to the next. You cannot know the best ammo only on one recommendation.
