Anyone done this conversion any thoughts on safety I understand they may be better than the sako style that can blow down the raceway.
I need to make a .473 boltface to a ppc size and kind of wondering the best way to go about it wanted to avoid the sako extractor .

Some Benchrest shooters many years ago bent the 700 extractor in a bit so it would pick up on the ppc rim. The bolt face was left large and the case centered on the chamber.

A bolt with PPC face would be the best option. See PT&G.
Are you planning on having a collar installed to center the smaller case, or just an extractor to reach the PPC case?
If just the extractor, why not try altering the Remington extractor first? If it is a snap in type, experimenting wouldn't require missing with that tiny rivet.

Denis that is what I kind of had in mind but was unsure if it would work been digging around on the net and have read mixed reports on it.
I tried a piece of brass in the bolt face and it seems to pick it up as is .

Will install the barrel and tweak the extractor I think am not fond of basterdizing the bolt and allow the possibility of the gases to be able to blow back.

Was even thinking maybe epoxy in a small ring to take up some slack but will try it as is first.

I have one of the Mini-16 PT&G bolts in PPC for my 30 Grendel round I'm trying out. Very nice bolt.

I still don't know why Remington will not mass produce bolts in PPC boltfaces. Seems like enough demand for the various cartridges offered. It would have stopped all these conversions long ago.
