M-305 iron sight adjustment????

So after a month of getting the wee beast shimmed and pinned, I finally had a few minutes to shoot it. I headed out to Sharon after noon to test fire it.
I put up four of the 100 yard rifle targets, and aimed at the center of the group. After 15 rounds, I waited for a cease fire and had a look. Up until I was 10 yards away, I was thinking I'd had 15 clean misses. Turns out every one was in the black of the upper right hand target. If I had kept my mouth shut, I could have bragged about the group.
I returned to the bench, and cranked the rear sight down two full clicks and to the left three.
I had to leave before I could go down range, so I'm just wondering how many minutes the POI is supposed to be moved with each click. I doubt it's 1/4.

I think it is 1/4 MOA per click I could be wrong though. Too bad you couldn't check your target...
If it is a 1/4 MOA/click you technically would have moved your POI a 1/2" down and 3/4" left by my math (1 MOA = 1inch @ 100 yds)

I may drift the front later, but with barely 4 inches of adjustment required, I'm pretty happy with it as is.
I note mine has a punch mark on the front sight that marks both the site and the base, so it should be simple to loosen the screw and move it slightly without getting completely lost.

Sorry I did not get back to you all sooner. Yup, it's a single MOA per klik, but with the Kommunist made rifle, your mileage may vary. With REAL USGI sights, you will always get a 1 MOA movement. Boringly predictable kit those M1 Garand rear sight parts.
When I set up a match rifle (iron sights only), I will mechanically center the rear sight in the middle, lined up with the center hash mark/line. Then I will shoot and tweak the front sight over. This allows the FULL 16 MOA range both ways. This is the favoured practice on our NRA High Power team.

And they come in Meter's instead of yards (we are a metric country right? Fellas: The M1 Garand sights are marked in yard and M14 in meters. Good, now that we've established the differences you will find that M1 Garand sights can be found in the USA and the M14 ones are MUCH harder to locate. Don't know why since most ranges in the US are in yards.
Now unless you are actively competing with your iron sights on a meter range, I would be happy to jump at any M1 Garand sights you run across at local gun shows or auction sites.
If you are scoping your M1A or M14, then save your money and keep the Norc sights on there as backups. Don't bother disassembing them, because you might not be able to get those 'soft as dog shzt' metal knobs back together... Been there, done that.
Save your money... buy an ARMS # 18 mount....
