M-88 .308 glass bedding

Why don't you dive in and do it yourself?

M88s are a different beast to glass bed. Because of the way they are held together, they need some special attention. That makes them trickier than bolt actions and other similar rifles.

I won't do your rifle for you but if you decide to do it yourself you need to make sure you have all of the support areas covered both in front of the receiver/back of the receiver as well as from the receiver to just past the barrel hold down screw. The most important part is just in front of the mag well/ramp up to the barrel screw. If that area isn't tightly bedded, there will be pressure against the barrel and receiver which will cause accuracy inconsistency. Not many gunsmiths know how to do those fine old girls properly. Be careful they describe what they are going to do before hand.

Your 'ready by' date might be an issue. You'll have to phone a few smithies to find out. Unless you buy an Acraglas kit.
Exploded drawing is here. No. W's. stevespages.com/ipb-winchester-88.html
You'd need to bed around the recoil block, forearm stud(no completely floated barrel) and likely where the stock and receiver mate.
There's another forum with a how-to. Add the W's. .shootersforum.com/rifles-rifle-cartridges/27123-glass-bedding-winchester-88-a.html

Thanks for the replies but I'm not that (so?) good at the procedure to undertake it myself; "A good man knows his limitations". The shooters forum how-to seems to be a proven procedure. Maybe if a gunsmith were to be given the instructions they would do the job (???)
