Was just on Youtube when I came along this video of the M&M hybrid AK. Would there even be a chance for the RCMP to turn their heads on this one and give it a Non Restricted FTR number? Looks like it wont be compatible with a normal AK lower receiver and some parts look proprietary. What do you guys think? Here's the link if anyone's curious : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vStYSLX-X5g

Interesting.

The biggest issue is the company's advertising itself...

"The most advanced AK platform rifle..."

"This advanced AK platform rifle..."

"In short, the AK has evolved."

The company says it is an AK variant. Doomed by maker before the lab even needs to look at it.

And it isn't even the labs fault. The law out right bans any variant of the AK. The Order in Council banning guns by name and variation alone needs to change.

Cool, the receiver is completely different. The only way to find out if they'll approve it is to give them one and wait and wait and wait. Maybe in three years they'll be on the shelves at Canadian tire, that would be awesome! Edit: Fenceline is right, there's probably zero chance of them coming here

I'd love one NR, and I hope an importer submits one for classification, but with the AK written in there, I fear they will simply call it prohib because of that alone. Do you know if any of the parts interchange with AK parts?
I wonder if it accepts Surplus AK mags.

Darn, don't want to get my hopes up but maybe it may go the same way of the AR 180b. But who knows, Maybe this may be the AK that Canada deserves instead of paying 3500+ for a friggin Valmet.

well, seing the video, that doesnt look much like an ak to me, just import it on a different name than AK and give it a try.

You do realize that classification looks at manufactures documents too, like advertising and design specs.

The manufacture openly calls it the next evolution in the ak platform. They call it an AK. They can name it whatever they like, the fact is, it is by their own admission, an AK platform rifle.

By law, all ak platform variants are prohibited. Regardless of name.

Thank you elected politicians.
