For those who aren't aware, M-CARBO make an excellent trigger & hammer spring kit for the 590a1, 590, 500, 835, Maverick 88. (possibly others, don't know the entire line)

I found the 590a1 trigger pull a little heavy and went looking for a better solution. The pull ends up about HALF that of stock and I've had no primer ignition issues. Great bit of kit for the Mossberg line IMO.

The company was fantastic to deal with, excellent customer service.

For the record, I have nothing to do with this company, just a very satisfied customer and passing it along to fellow Mossberg owners.

Thanks for the link/info. I have a recently Tacorded 590A1 that I'll get this kit for.

(I really don't mind the trigger pull of the 590A1... but I like tinkering and changing things up. :))

I did the same and asked him to clean up the trigger while he had it. Was well worth the cost.

Their FAQ on the 590a1 is a bit ambiguous:

Q: Do you recommend removing the smaller inner hammer spring in the 590A1, when replacing the larger hammer spring with the MCARBO hammer spring?

A: The factory hammer spring will look smaller because it's "taken a set" which means it's broken in and been compressed long enough to look smaller. Use all MCARBO springs in the kit to get the largest trigger pull reduction.

The main Mossberg hammer spring is slightly shorter than the M-CARBO main hammer spring. They detail this to differentiate between the two so you don't mix them up.

As for the smaller "internal" hammer spring, obviously it's a "military requirement" for extra ignition force. Pull the trigger & it's gonna fire no matter what kinda thing.

It can easily be removed and still have reliable ignition. Tried it both ways, both work, both have a slightly different trigger feel. Maybe when I get my super secret squirrel advance notice of the Zombie invasion I'll reinstall the small hammer spring just incase. :p

Tac-Ord do great work. Gotta send some stuff out to them again soon.

I can deal with the 590a1 stock trigger as well, but if it can be made better, why not !

Thanks for the review. I've been tempted to pick one of these kits up a while ago but always on the fence. Glad to hear it was worth the money. Might have to pick up a kit myself now. :)
