I know full well what BS led up to the rifle coming to canada and the "DMR" meme associated with it.
But how reliable is the actual rifle?

I dont recall hearing any issues with the guns reliability.... poor accuracy, high price, a heavy weight and chewed up ejection ports are issues that have been brought up.

My brother bought one a couple weeks ago. I haven't shot it yet, so I can't tell you much about it. He's put a couple hundred rounds through it without issues but that isn't much to go off. I would suggest reading as many reviews and watch as many videos as you can on it. Hold one in your hands if you can at a local store. I bought a bushmaster ACR a few years back, a lot of people were knocking them. Turns out to be the best rifle I own, just a bit heavy but I don't hunt with it so that doesn't matter to me.

It has swiss SG-type gas/operating system. It uses AK mags. It is heavy, which helps with recoil. It is less accurate than SKS. It has rails for optics and light. It is a fun rifle to shoot.

M10x being 2K retail, XCR-L is a better choice. If you take Vz58, for example, and bring it to M10x ergos standard, you will spend around 2K too, but will have twice the accuracy.

So, if you can get M10x on EE for 1.5K, that's about the right price.

Hit the nail on the head haha

As far as I remember, people reported a design issue that leads to ####ty accuracy. Essentially, in simple terms, gas system bends barrel during shooting.... making any gun DMR, but M10x.... huge disappointment

Gas system is the same as SG540,542,550. Same AK type BCG riding on the rails like in SG. Recoil spring is around OP-rod attached to BCG by charging handle.

The problem is the shell/monolithic rail, which looks like upper receiver, but in fact, is not. And it is affixed to the barrel trunnion by a single removable bolt.

any time you shoot that monolithic rail/shell is moving around giving amazing 4-6 MOA DMR accuracy.

I like mine, I enjoy shooting it more than the 858's I've had. Mine seems to be accurate enough.

heres what it did at 200m with surplus
