M+M M10x+ Gen 3 review

I didn’t buy a gen 1 or 2 for that reason. After seeing reviews of the gen 3 I was happy to buy one and give it a try since the company actually fixed the issues and made a gun that works like it’s supposed to.

I’m not going to stomp my feet and be mad forever because once upon a time they made an unreliable platform that they since have made reliable lol.

No sense crying about it forever and letting it affect my life. Especially if you have no skin in the game it makes even less sense to be upset about it.

Unfortunately companies using their customers as QC is par for the course in the Canadian market. That’s why In this case I’m glad I waited for this current gen!
Fair nuff. I simply do not have trust level for this and let someone else be the tester for it.

I really love the look of this rifle and with that cerakote really nice. I was considering one of these to but the updated gen came out after I had already pulled the trigger on a Kodiak WK181C-Z Gen 2 based. And reading the previous gen M10x steered me away. But still no regrets from me, I am about 1500 rounds of surplus through my WK181C-Z and no complaints here either.

Only issues I had goes back to the mags like you. Bought 4 extra from Cabin creek supply and they put it to high for some and one mag couldn't pull bolt back when closed like you. It's so stupid how that works, I thought the PMAGs were pre-pinned by MAGPUL. At least they shipped me a new one without anything but the 3 others I bought from them will still cause some rare failure to feed or stovepipes.

It sucks RDSC made you pay it back, I ordered an item from there and took a look at their return policy in case it wouldn't work out and yeah it's really bad. Never ordering from them again just in case.

Yeah pretty lame if you ask me. Glad they replaced it, but the new mag is finicky as well(a bit less tho).

They said it’s “because of our stupid laws” lol. Yeah, I get that. But the mags should still work hah.

350 rounds and counting, just the one mag stoppage during my first 10 rounds fired!

Today while stripping and cleaning I noticed that the screws on the sides of the receiver that hold the action snug in place were loose. I tightened them up significantly so I’m guessing perhaps that was having a negative effect on accuracy!

Got the BCM comp (mod 5) installed today as well. Didn’t like the look of the gaudy OEM brake. No grooves to remove the brake with a crescent wrench so ends up sliding a screwdriver through the holes of the brake and twisting it off that way.

My M10X "Gen 2.5" is still running flawlessly on norinco red box, but won't do much better than 4 MOA. Good enough for range jollies but after seeing others accuracy with higher quality ammo I am curious about testing these out to try get to 3 MOA.

I have a tough time leaving it at home on range trips, fun rifle and fun calibre! I get the skepticism from folks burned by past iterations though.

Would love to see reviewers actually test the accuracy of a rifle, a single 3 round group for each ammo isn't much better than no groups at all. I know ammo isn't cheap but it's not *that* expensive.
I tested the accuracy with some hornady stuff and norinco red box. The sample size was small but the accuracy wasn’t very good. 3-5”. I’m going to try some reloads and some other brands when I can. If the hornady stuff was consistently around 3” I would believe that more could be squeezed out of it but I couldn’t achieve any consistent groups.

I’m going to keep plugging away until I find some better ammo tho!

I'd like to hear accuracy results from one of the newer 16" Cold Hammer-Forged Barrels on offer from M+M with the Gen 3+ rifles. The best that Button-rifled barrels seem to do on this platform is 3-4" groups, based on 1 to 2 "fliers" per 5-round group. 3 or 4 rounds typically go into just ver 2", with one or two errant rounds expanding the group out to 4" or 5". It is somewhat frustrating that the M10Xs cannot seem to group better with Barnaul, Norinco Red Box, or even premium brands of 7.62x39mm ammo. Is some of the grouping inconsistency due to the dubious quality of some of the ammo? Yep, almost certainly. However the extent to which this is true remains uncertain, particularly as premium ammo does not appear to improve button-rifled results.

Anyone out there with a Restricted rifle wearing a 16" CHF Barrel? I'm curious to hear your accuracy results.....

I inquired with CSC about an M-10 plus with a 16" CHFB and they want $2500 for it v. $2350 for the 18.5" barrelled rifles.
I was expecting to pay less for the restricted version, not more.

I'm not rolling the dice on $2500, so that killed any interest I recently had on this rifle.

Restricted or not, the CHF Barrel might be worth the up-charge IF it provides more consistent accuracy.....

I was banking on a price of around $1900-2000 for the restricted version.
At that price point I would have already bought it and performed the guinea pig roll of beta tester with respect to accuracy, as I've bought a good deal of RUAG, Norma and Hornady ammo and I'm now set up for hand loading the 7.62x39 cartridge.
