Hi all, I have a sportered Hex receiver with good barrel. Since it's been messed with, I was thinking it may be a candidate for the Archangel stock. What has your experience been? I'm looking for my fellow CGN'ers to give me the straight goods on this.

Cheers.

I have, drop in, i've put 91/30 in it and then swapped out to M44, both work flawlessly. had an issue with original 5 round mag (they all did) HiCal replaced it with a fully functioning 5 rounder at no charge to me. Love the adjustments for pull/cheek riser. Added a scout mount and scope.

Good to know. Thanks for the feedback!! I've heard about the mag issues and the President of Archangel Mfg. had since posted an update on the stock, different colours such as desert tan and OD green as well as the whole mag issue.

ya i got mine on preorder, so was definitely an early version and i was expecting the mag issue. i have a 10 rounder that has been perfect since new and as i said HiCal stepped up and replaced the 5 with the issue. i have other mosins 91/30's and M44's/M38's that sit as original, but this one makes the trip to the range with me the most. convenience of detachable mag and allows for my bipod.
definitely worth the extra $ if you wanna shoot your mosin comfortably.

the archangel stock came with sling swivel to add as required, the bipod is generic $50 or so??
as for how it shoots.....i have a stock M38 counter bored that will outshoot this one but this one is more comfortable and has been dressed up with a timney as well.
to each their own and nothing has been done to this one that can't be "returned" to original.
at $199 for the stock it's more than most 91/30's but i am one of those "do as you please, it's your rifle".

So would anyone say it actually improves accuracy or no difference at all?

Just curious as I loves me some Mosin rifle. But I'm very hesitant/skeptical to buy plastic pretty wrap for any of mine if it doesn't do anything the normal rifle won't already.

If you are looking for accuracy " OUT of the box" nothing else added , from what I experience , the archangel is the last one that I would pick , it is good looking but for accuracy my first choice was the ATI and I've personally tested my friend's 91/30 with a Boyd's stock very similar those would be my choice .

But if I can had one thing, I've heard that the archangel modified with a uk-59 barrel ,some trigger work and bedding work and it was fantastic !

looking to make a bedding in your original wooden stock
with cork, small pieces of copper foil of different thicknesses,
it sells mosin special shims to states to the recipient that you put in the screw holes
at worst to a bedding epoxy

you'll be amazed resultatset Votr rifle keep an original look that its precision will surprise one to your gun club
each time it swells my ego :)

in addition, you can buy another mosin
