SFRC's price is (was) hardly gouging. I'd assume they set prices based on their cost and their local market, just like most every other retailer. Gouging would be to sell them for $60 a piece, which they probably could have done and they still would have sold out in a short time. But they didn't do that, did they?

DILLIGAF's calculations above don't include the exchange rate, which is not minor these days. Or CC transaction fees. And it's hardly their fault that some of us choose to live in provinces with sales tax... Where I live, it works out to less than $10 more per mag to go with SFRC. Even less if I order a few other items from them at the same time to dilute the shipping cost. That's at most a 25% premium over waiting on an indefinite backorder from Brownells. I'd rather shoot now, myself. Not to mention that I'm willing to pay a premium just to support the industry in Canada, especially with a solid vendor like SFRC.

Yup I ordered mine from Brownells... I rather wait than to be gouged by the CDN vendors....

I hope you aren't suggesting that I'm gouging. I could have sold them for double and sold them all in 24hrs. I put my normal mark up on them. Remember there are import fees, transportation to the importer then to me, exchange rates, plus the importer has to make something too. If you can get them from Brownells for that price, grab them. That is less than I pay for them.

Last time i ordered from brownells my stuff came post took close to 10 days and weighed much less than 2 mags(im talking some grips, screws and a spring) my shipping charge was 35.00usd (38.50 cdn + foreign conversion = 39.27cdn)

Assuming that brownells would charge the same for shipping as last time 2 mags @ 31.40cdn each = 62.80cdn + shipping 39.27cdn = 102.07 for 2 mags.

Yeah brownells would be cheaper so long as border services does not add duty or taxes and you don't get charged any brokerage from the carrier. (admittedly often they do not).

The best part from buying them from sfrc is 1 sfrc is awesome and 2 i know that i have them coming and i am not god knows where on some waiting list.

I picked usps... Even at 10.55(11.83cdn after exchange and foreign conversion) + the 62.80 cdn for the mags = 74.63. That's only 16.65cdn cheaper per mag. (though my experience with brownells shipping was much more$$). Calling it a fun tax and i am grateful just to have more than 1 mag
